Raising the bar for lobbying and government affairs in Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Society of Professional Advocates was established as the state’s only recognized statewide group for the lobby community. OSPA members are well-respected lobbyists and government affairs professionals who are serious about what they do and are committed to high standards and integrity. On behalf of its members, OSPA will work with the Oklahoma Ethics Commission and the Oklahoma State Legislature to improve understanding and compliance with the laws governing lobbying in Oklahoma, while also raising the public perception and ethical bar for the lobby profession and government affairs practices in general.

Our mission includes

  • Promoting government affairs advocacy as a profession

  • Supporting open, transparent and ethical practice of government advocacy

  • Representing the interests of OSPA and the lobby practice at the Oklahoma Ethics Commission

  • Providing a clear understanding of the ethics laws and rules in Oklahoma

  • Hosting events and professional educational opportunities for members

Membership Benefits Include:

OSPA will be your one shop stop for compliance, current event and legislative updates.

OSPA will track legislation of interest/relevance to the lobby and government affairs community and update members throughout session and during the interim.

OSPA will monitor meetings of the Oklahoma Ethics Commission and provide updates on potential changes affecting the industry.

OSPA will send out reminders of reporting deadlines and requirements to all members throughout the year.

What We Do


  • Issue briefs on emerging topics and continual education on lobby compliance and reporting

  • Regular email communications on relevant news and information

  • During the legislative session, provide an opportunity to interact with legislative staff and thank them for their integral role in the process

  • OSPA staff will maintain an updated centralized membership list with contact information available internally

  • Maintain a master calendar of events and deadlines during the legislative session to allow for better planning and scheduling convenience


  • Establish training modules and continuing education opportunities to stay abreast of any changes in state compliance issues, as well as PAC and campaign issues

  • Provide a certified membership for all members who attend continuing education and training seminars

  • Provide an annual opportunity to gather among other members and professionals and hear from speakers on topics of interest, as well as networking in a relaxed environment

Who Can Join?

Registered lobbyists or other government relations professionals residing in Oklahoma can join for $1,000 annually. Qualified parties residing out-of-state are eligible to join for $500 annually.

Members are well-respected professionals in the government affairs and lobbying industry who are proud of what they do and committed to high standards.
